Krispy Kreme Challenge 2012
I finally made it to the Krispy Kreme Challenge on the crisp, cool morning of February 4. I ran 2.5 miles from NC State's bell tower to Krispy Kreme. I got there, got my box of donuts and started cramming them down. I had to eat all 12! I was walking around in the largest crowd of people I had ever been in in my entire life. To my surprise, Krispy Kreme had run out of water! Out of water?! WHAT?! Are you kidding me?! I was beyond livid. I mean how dangerous is that -- extremely dangerous! I ate seven donuts, and could just not eat any more. I needed some water. So, I threw my donuts down and continued on to complete the Challenge. I ran 2.5 more miles to the finish line. After crossing the finish line, guess what? No water?! Out of water again!
This was the 8th year this race has been "organized" or in my perspective, the whole race from beginning to end was extreme disorganized chaos. Needless to say, if this race has been going on for eight years, you would think the race organizers would know how much water to have. This was the type of race where you actually had to register, so the "organizers" actually already knew exactly how many participants there were going to be -- which was almost 8,000!
I am happy to say that my race registration fee was donated to the UNC Childrens Hospital! Hopefully the money actually gets to the Hosptial, but who knows with these race "organizers"

back in the groove
At the beginning of November, I ran the Battleship half marathon in Wilmington, North Carolina. It was a lot fun! I love to run. It is so exhiliarating! I took about two months off from running (way too much time off), but this week I finally got back into the groove of running and I am training for my next race. I will be running in the Krispy Kreme Challenge in Raleigh, North Carolina.
The Krispy Kreme Challege is where you run 2.5 miles, eat one dozen donuts, then run another 2.5 miles. It should be interesting! I am excited to see how I, along with hundreds of others, perform.
And the miles keep coming ...

Holiday Treats
I returned to work after Christmas and someone asked me how my Christmas was. When I returned the question to the person who asked me, she said, "fattening!" I was like ME TOO! What a great response she had. Although the holidays are such a fun time for me, they are also very fattening!
I love eating the special homemade sweets and treats people make; I especially love my mother's homemade goodies! It all happens during only one out of 12 months though. I always feel like I want to eat everything during the holiday season since I only get to eat it one time a year.
If only we could have these goodies all year round...

wrapped Christmas gifts
I love to wrap Christmas gifts! I want them to be absolutely perfect. And, I always top them off with a bow :). I also love looking at how other people wrap their gifts too! And, isin't it always so nice to recieve a gift that looks like someone spent just a little extra time on wrapping?!
It is so nice to give and recieve gifts at this time of year but more importantly,
Christ is the reason for Christmas!

Starbucks Gold Card
I never knew about the Starbucks gold card until earlier this year. I was like OMG, where and how can I get one of these in my posession? I must have one. Of course, you must spend a certain amount of money within a certain time period to recieve a gold card.
Finally yesterday, I received my very own gold card in the mail! I am so excited about it! Not everyone has one, you know. I can't wait to make my first purchase with my gold card!
